"Requiem for a Soda" stills

For the three of you who haven't had an advanced screening, here are some pictures from my latest movie (premiering at the Beaver Film Fest -- Wednesday, April 18, 7:00. / Red carpet party, 6:00).

Requiem for a Soda is heavily influenced by Salsa III -- from shots like this and this to the Rainy Day Pictures logo at the end. (By the way, go back and take a look at the first this. Isn't that ceiling gorgeous? What a great auditorium. Some day I'll go back and shoot there again.)

Same scene, different angle. (You've seen this photo before.)

This is my favorite sequence. Unfortunately, it had to be trimmed due to time restraints. The cutting doesn't hurt the story itself, but ideally some of these shots would be allowed to breathe a second or two longer. They're among my favorite in the movie. (And it helps that the professor exudes evil from every pore.)

Look to the far right, and you'll see DJ just beginning to appear out of nothingness. It's nice when the lighting actually does what it's supposed to (an extremely rare occurrence for Rainy Day/Double Deuce productions -- mostly because we're idiots).

Meanwhile, Andi does her best Nate Kirk impression from Violent Person.

The lighting didn't turn out so well here (curse you miniature black and white viewfinder), but I think Paul and DJ look pretty dapper here with their matching clothes and all.

Now that's acting.

And, as usual, Matt Brown steals the show.
See you on Wednesday.

...And I haven't MADE a premiere yet. I don't think I'll be making this one either (darn mid-week premieres causing "issues" with having to work.) Maybe the 21st... Asta has a class that day. If not, maybe I can get a DVD or something.

Glad to see that the real star of the film finally arrived. I guess that shot of the mean looking guy is the final battle between Pepsi and evil.
