Day 8 / 9

In case you're confused, the title means that I'm going to be talking about both day eight and day nine in this post--not day "eight ninths." If that were the case, I'd be talking about what we were filming at 9:20 p.m. ("8" over "9" equals "x" over "24"--cross multiply and divide) on the first night.

I always have to watch myself around you wise guys.

I think that was the night we were filming the Greatest Fight Ever scene. You'll be able to recognize that scene in the movie because it's the one where two guys are sitting on a black futon talking.

(pause)

Bah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

No, seriously, there really is more to the movie than that (sometimes they lie back on the futon and talk).

"Day 8" was actually on Monday--I just didn't get around to posting anything about it until now, because basically all we did was finish up that scene we stopped shooting last week when our tripod broke. There were no balloon fights this time, though. In fact, we finished that one and then went ahead and cranked out an entire dialogue scene--real quick-like. (Actually, we cranked out the dialogue scene first, then finished up that other scene, but how could anyone even know something like that?)

"Day 9" was last night. It was fun because it was yet another scene that we got to shoot off campus (see, I told you there was more to the movie!)

Well, it wasn't really "off campus" per se, but it was a good deal away from the part of campus we normally shoot at.

Anyway, after we got there, we realized that we had forgotten one crucial, artistic prop. So while my comrades were lugging around heavy lights and running extension cords and struggling through their pages of lines, I sat in a corner and doodled.

Anything to help the team.

(I hope laughter is, indeed, an adequate medicine.)
