Day 7
Last night was the first time we've filmed since the party scene a week ago. It was really difficult to get going.
That first week when we worked six days in a row was exhausting, but I never needed much motivation to get to work--whether it was 3:00 P.M. after a short break or 3:00 A.M. after a long night and more left to shoot.
But now school has started, and it was like everyone was dragging on the set last night. Sure, we had fun and goofed around a little, but it almost seemed forced--if you can "force" goofing around. It was like we knew we were college guys making a film, so we were supposed to be having a good time, yet there was an underlying weariness about the night.
Also, it probably didn't help that we were re-shooting some things that we had screwed up during that infamous Day 3.
And just when we were really getting going last night, the tripod broke.
I don't anticipate the rest of our shoots having that same crummy atmosphere, but I'm discovering that the kind of project were doing really needs to be a full-time thing. Last week was a blast because we could devote as much time and care to our scenes as needed.
Now school has started. We have about 40% of the movie left to shoot.
Time to grind it out.
