Tricks

I went to a place called "The Cabin" tonight.

"The Cabin" tried to trick me.

It has these log cabiny walls, which make you think you're in a log cabin.

But I knew they weren't real, because they looked like plasticy crap. Plus they only went halfway up the wall.

While I was sitting there looking at the tricky walls, these two guys busted out their guit-boxes and started playin' some tunes to the Lord.

Then some guy got up and talked for awhile. I made sure to note that he looked like the tailor Motel Camzoil.

I'm going to watch Shrek 2 tonight.

I'm not getting my hopes up too much, though.

That's because the original Shrek is on my list of movies that just about everyone else seems to love, but I find . . . lacking.

That list includes such movies as:

Spaceballs

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (although this one gets an asterisk. It is a pretty good movie, but fans seem to rank it much too high. Certainly it is better than Temple of Doom--the new Hilary Duff movie is probably better than Temple--but I've heard many say that Crusade is better than Raiders. Blasphemy.)

Any movie in which the title includes the following words: "pie" "trip" or "movie."

And, the capstone of my list, The Princess Bride

(That's the one that always gets me into trouble. In fact, I've probably just guaranteed myself an inbox full of hate mail. Haha, too bad I don't have my e-mail address posted. But I have no doubt you rabid Princess Bride fans will track me down and gut me--no doubt saying something inane right before, like "I am dumpy McDumperson you killed my dumpy goldfish--prepare to be gutted.)

Oh man, I couldn't even find a website devoted to how much the movie sucks. What is up with all you people?

I'm pretty shocked at you Reini... The Princess Bride is a great movie.. Sure, it's not as good as peo ple make it out to be, but it deserves some credit to being a good m ovie. LIke for instance, it is not only about love, but about action, and skill, and cunning. It combines the perfect world of film critics, and gives them all what they want. You have to think that in the time they made the movie, it was exceptionally handled. Alright. I'm done ranting.
Later.
