To the Street

At 8:00 in the morning I was listening to a group of College Writing I students explain why they didn't have drafts for me to look over.

I was there because I work at the Writing Center and my boss decided it was time to take our message to the street.

Or his classroom.

Anyway, their papers were supposed to be about how American culture, or rather, American media (if you don't believe in culture) has influenced our views on love and romance.

At first, when I saw those two words, I adopted my typical nine year old attitude and thought "Awww...boring!" I was hoping they would have to write a paper about robots--robots from the future who eat cheeseburgers.

But it really didn't turn out so bad. Because none of them had a full draft, I didn't have to spend my time "working." Instead, we just talked about the subject, and they had a lot of interesting ideas.

In fact, they had so many good ideas, that it made me want to write my own paper on the subject.

(pause)

BAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Anyway, I wanted to end this post with a funny picture. So I searched the Internet for a funny picture. And Google, in its mystical wisdom, brought me to this.
