I Think I'm Hungry
I've decided I'm going to drop my meal plan next semester on the grounds that Wally's sucks and I hate it.
I've had a chicken patty every day for the past week. Now, not that there's anything wrong with chicken patties--I actually kind of like them--but there is something wrong when you're paying for a meal plan that essentially charges $6.50 for a chicken patty, a cookie, and a glass of milk. Those are the only things worth getting at Wally's--unless you're uncommonly adventurous.
For $6.50, I could get two double cheeseburger meals at Burger King--two! (Sorry, McDonald's, despite your superior food quality and service, two average meals at your place costs $8.50--please bring back the value!)
But I won't be eating Burger King every night. I'll be having pizza burgers and generic ice tea--the kind with pre-packaged containers of mix that make two quarts each for a total of 12 quarts for the measly price of $1.87.
I also bought a measuring cup for the first time in my life.
This is kind of fun. I realize this must seem inane to most of you, but you have to realize that, thus far, my greatest cooking accomplishment was realizing that cereal tasted better when you added milk to it.
So all this is a big deal for me. I am going to have to make responsible, adult decisions when it comes to buying food. (Like buying one 24 case of Coke instead of two 12 packs.)
I'm going to have to be on the lookout for the best deals. (Like double-stuf Oreos. Twice the stuf for the same price.)
I'm going to have to start eating nutritiously. (Like ordering vanilla instead of chocolate ice cream.)
And I'm going to have to send a thank you note to George Foreman for his wonderful, wonderful grill.

Sure...thank George Foreman...the guy who bought it.
Oh, well. We can handle it. By the way, would you like us to forward your 'value" comments to the inner sanctum of authority. We know a few people.
Hey...If you think Wallys sucks tell me why. I'm serious, Senate is looking into some food service issues and I'm curious to know why people choose to drop meal plans. Thanks! -B
Well, obviously you said value, but if there's anything else...
