On the Subject of Bees

The bee is nature's most unpredictable creature. It also happens to be among the stupidest. In fact, the only creatures dumber than bees are ducks. I mean, have you ever seen a bunch of ducks? All they ever do is float around in lakes and go, "Quack quack quack!" I never ducks engaging in any mentally taxing activities, such as advanced calculus.

(Sidenote: does anyone know what the proper name is for "a bunch of ducks?" I mean, you have a "pride of lions" or a "school of fish" but what do you call a bunch of ducks? And don't tell me it's "flock" either, cause that's reserved for birds who actually get up and do something--not for lazy, good-for-nothing ducks.

But this blog isn't about ducks; it's about bees. Namely, how you never can tell with them.

I will expound more upon bees and their unique (and positively infuriating) characteristics at another time, but for now, just remember: the hardest part about playing chicken with a bumblebee is knowing when to flinch.
