Blogging the Bloggers Part V

The title for this post, "Blogging the Bloggers Part V," reminds me of "Star Wars: Episode V" which...wait, I've already been down that path.

Anyway, I'm pleased to anounce that this will be the final installment of the "Blogging the Bloggers" series, and no prequels are being planned at the moment, on the grounds that if I did make a prequel, I would have to call it something ludicrous, like "Blogging the Bloggers Part 1/2" and that sounds eerily close to "The Lion King 1 1/2" which I have not seen, but I can only imagine *shudder*.

I randomly chose from a list of weblogs Follow Me Here as the last blog I was going to review. And I was pleasantly surprised. The first post I saw was a link to a US map depicting, by county, the most popluar terms for soft drinks--including, "soda," "pop," and "coke." That kind of useless, trivial information holds a special place in my heart. Plus I love maps. In case you're wondering, throughout the majority of Minnesota's counties, 80 to 100% of the people refer to soft drinks as "pop." Except for me, of course. I refer to them as "Cokes" because that's all I drink.

I would have loved to have seen a world map to see if Russians refer to them as "Soda Popinskis."

So I could tell right off the bat that this was a blog I was going to like. And if you're really craving for a categorization, I think it really is, in fact, a blog--as opposed to a filter or Notebook--because it isn't just a collection of links, nor does it have lengthy, focused entries. It looks to me like a good, old-fashioned blog.

As I delved further into the pages, I noticed that the author was, once again, anti-Bush. It seems to me that a lot of these bloggers tend to be of the persuasion. I wonder if that's generally the case among bloggers across the web, or if it's because all the sites I've been looking at have come from one list, and perhaps the creator of that list was anti-Bush. Either way, the author's political views didn't too severely hamper my ability to enjoy some of the stuff on the site. I found more humorous references to pop. culture on this site, then I ever could've found in a million years on Clark HUMPHREY's.

So go to Follow Me Here, if for no other reason than to check out the soft drink map. Because, after all, I've found out there aren't too many other reasons to go there. It is a classic blog with some humorous stuff. But heck, if that's what you're craving, just go to my site.
